Responding to the call of being shepherd for others the Family and Pastoral Counselling Association of the Philippines made their pastoral visit to a hundred families affected by Typhoon Ondoy last October 18. This was made possible through the coordination with the Magis Deo community headed by Philip and Malou Panlilio from the Parish of Our Lady of Nativity in Marikina City.

The FPCAP volunteers gave psychological debriefing for men, women and children which was held at the nearby Immaculate Conception chapel. This chapel was submerged up to the ceiling as the Marikina River overflowed its banks at the height of Ondoy's fury and transformed the whole Industrial Valley complex into a sea of garbage and muddy flood water. Rene and Finina Arcilla, Gilda Baquiran, Joy Dee, Myr Serranilla, Lyn Payno, Tetchie Viduya and Dr. Pearl Polestico rendered psychological debriefing to our psychologically-battered families the whole morning.
